Katherine Widman
Katherine is a registered clinical psychologist who has worked in private practice for over ten years. She completed a Bachelor of Arts-Psychology (Honours) at Macquarie University before undertaking a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of Western Sydney. She is a member of the Australian Psychology Society. Katherine is an AHPRA board approved supervisor.
Katherine works with clients across the lifespan including children and their families, adolescents, and adults. She works collaboratively with clients to assist them to achieve their therapy goals. Katherine understands that it can take courage to seek therapy and values the importance of feeling welcomed and comfortable in the therapy space.
Katherine has particular interests in anxiety disorders, ADHD, interventions for challenging child behaviour, adjustment difficulties, and depression. Using evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Mindfulness, and DBT, Katherine works with clients to deepen their understanding of themselves and the relationship between their thoughts and how they feel and behave. Katherine additionally draws from Parent Management Training and emotion coaching when working with children and their families.
