Sammy is a registered psychologist with extensive experience within the mental health field over the last decade. She has experience working within the community, schools, private clinics, psychiatric hospitals, facilitating mental health group programs, and engaging in crisis support volunteer work. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and their families to lead happier, more fulfilling lives.
In her practice, Sammy provides evidence-based psychometric assessments and interventions, to children and adolescents presenting with a range of developmental and psychological presentations. With a client centred approach, she ensures all clients receive a service that is tailored to their individual needs and goals. She can administer assessments, diagnose, and provide recommendations.
Her speciality is conducting psychometric assessments of intelligence and learning. She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Her special interest is supporting children and parents, to assist with learning difficulties (e.g., Intellectual Disabilities), behavioural challenges (e.g., Oppositional Defiance Disorder), attention difficulties (e.g., ADHD), social challenges (e.g., Autism), anxiety, depression, anger, and stress.
Her goal is to support and help empower individuals and families to most effectively navigate through life’s challenges and inevitable ups and downs.
