Dominic Byatt

Dominic is a provisional psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Macquarie University and is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. He has gained valuable experience working across diverse settings, including private hospitals, outpatient services, private practices, and university clinics. Dominic has worked with clients in both individual and group therapy formats, addressing a broad range of concerns such as mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, borderline personality disorder, work/study stress, and perfectionism.

Trained in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing Dominic is committed to providing tailored therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. He enjoys working with clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Prior to pursuing psychology, Dominic gained experience in the Out of Home Care sector, where he supported children and adolescents in crisis and worked with individuals experiencing significant psychological distress. This background has informed his compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy, especially when working with clients navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges.

Dominic has a particular interest in the therapeutic process and how psychological difficulties are reflected within the therapeutic relationship. He believes in creating a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel validated and empowered to recognize their strengths and develop the skills necessary to achieve their therapeutic goals and lead a fulfilling life.
