Nisha Balaprakash

Nisha is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Macquarie University and a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

She is passionate about providing evidence-based, client-centred care, and has undergone training in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Nisha is dedicated to tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that her clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their therapeutic journey. With experience in a range of clinical settings—including university clinics, public hospitals, and schools—Nisha has worked with clients across the lifespan, from children to older adults, and from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Her clinical interests include working with individuals facing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, perfectionism, adjustment challenges, stress related to work and study, and more.

Nisha enjoys working with both children and adults, and has a particular passion for working with adolescents and young people, helping them navigate the challenges of growing up and building resilience. She takes a holistic, culturally-informed approach to her work, considering the many factors that contribute to an individual’s wellbeing. Nisha is deeply committed to creating strong, collaborative relationships with her clients, ensuring that they feel empowered to achieve their personal goals and improve their mental health.

With a compassionate and empathic approach, Nisha strives to provide a safe, supportive environment for her clients, helping them build the skills needed to thrive.
